Whether it was meeting revenue targets of INR 500 Cr (US$ 70 Million) or going beyond mere guest satisfaction to champion the concept of experiential hospitality in East India, his keen eye for details and his passion for perfection truly sets him apart. His simple mantra includes dynamic action coupled with sustainable innovation.
Having dedicated a major part of his life to the hospitality industry, he has supported various associations and think tanks at a global level. Among other things, he is the current Executive Committee member of Hotel & Restaurant Association of Eastern India (HRAEI), the eastern wing of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), one of the founding members of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tourism Committee, and the former President of SKAL International’s Kolkata Chapter.
He is an alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, and he acquired a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Calcutta. Apart from these qualifications, Mr. Rahman believes in equipping himself with relevant knowledge and skills in a highly disruptive milieu. He is an avid reader and an enthusiastic learner who has completed several Professional Development Programmes (PDP) from Cornell University, USA; XLRI – Xavier Institute of Management, Jamshedpur; Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; and Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. When not working you will find him hiking through forests, playing squash, and hanging out with his family!
